MLB: Milwaukee 6, Philadelphia 3 (12 inn.)

PHILADELPHIA, April 18 (UPI) -- Ryan Braun's tie-breaking sacrifice fly triggered a 12th-inning rally Monday that carried the Milwaukee Brewers to a 6-3 win over Philadelphia.

A throwing error by Phillies pitcher Kyle Kendrick (0-1) with none out in the 12th put runners at second and third, and Braun followed a run-scoring fly ball to plate Rickie Weeks with the decisive run.

Yuniesky Betancourt and Jonathan Lucroy (3-for-5) also recorded RBI in the inning, which handed the Brewers a victory in the first of a three-game set at Citizens Bank Ballpark.

Braun and Betancourt drove in two runs apiece and Brandon Kintzler (1-0) was credited with the victory after pitching two scoreless innings of relief.

Milwaukee closer John Axford blew a save opportunity in the bottom of the ninth when he yielded a pinch-hit RBI single to Pete Orr.

Ryan Howard collected a pair of hits and drove in a run for Philadelphia.
