Willie Bloomquist's single drove in Gerardo Parra, putting Arizona ahead, and Young followed by bashing a double to left to score Bloomquist.

Young went to third on an error by Cubs catcher Geovany Soto and scored on Kelly Johnson's double to complete the rally, which enabled Arizona to salvage one contest of a three-game series at Wrigley Field.

Young drove in a pair of runs and Parra finished with three hits for the D-backs.

Starter Armando Galarraga (1-0) went seven innings, allowing four runs on five hits while walking two and striking out five to earn the victory.

J.J. Putz picked up his second save with a scoreless ninth.

The Cubs' Ryan Dempster (0-2) was tagged with the loss, surrendering four earned runs on 10 hits.

Aramis Ramirez and Alfonso Soriano both homered for Chicago.
