NHL: Anaheim 2, Ottawa 1 (SO)

OTTAWA, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Bobby Ryan's goal in the second round of a shootout proved decisive Tuesday in the Anaheim Ducks' 2-1 victory over Ottawa.

Ryan used a surprise forehand shot to fool Ottawa goalie Brian Elliott, and Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller then turned aside Erik Karlsson's wrist shot to end the tiebreaker.

Corey Perry scored in regulation for Anaheim and Hiller made 39 saves as the Ducks won for the sixth time in eight games.

Mike Fisher got Ottawa's only goal and Elliott made 26 saves in the Senators' ninth loss in 10 games.
