NBA: Los Angeles Lakers 108, Detroit 83

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Pau Gasol led the Los Angeles Lakers with 21 points in their 108-83 win over Detroit Tuesday.

Kobe Bryant added 17 to take over 10th place on the all-time NBA scoring list ahead of Dominique Wilkins with 26,671 points.

Gasol made 7-of-11 shots from the field and sank all seven of his free throws. Lamar Odom scored 16 off the bench for the Lakers.

Los Angeles held a 45-42 lead at halftime but then poured it on in the third quarter, outscoring the Pistons 31-17 to take control. The Lakers have won three of their last four games.

Greg Monroe led the Pistons with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Tracy McGrady also scored 14. Detroit has dropped their last three games.
