NBA: Boston 93, Toronto 79

TORONTO, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Paul Pierce and Ray Allen combined for 53 points Sunday and the Boston Celtics cruised to a 93-79 victory over Toronto.

Pierce poured in 30 points, Allen added 23 and Rajon Rondo returned from a seven-game absence due to a sprained ankle to finish with four points and eight assists in nearly 34 minutes.

Boston broke a brief two-game losing streak thanks, in part, to 15 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists from Glen Davis.

DeMar DeRozan scored 27 points and Joey Dorsey added 13 points and 13 rebounds in the Raptors' loss.
