DENVER, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- LaDainian Tomlinson scored on a 2-yard run with 1:13 left Sunday, rallying the New York Jets to a 24-20 victory over Denver.
Trailing 20-17 with 3:55 left in the contest, Mark Sanchez drove the Jets 32 yards to the Denver 48-yard line, then launched a pass for Santonio Holmes. Denver's Renaldo Hill grabbed Holmes's face mask and the Broncos were called for pass interference, giving the Jets the ball at the 2-yard line.
Tomlinson then scored the second of his two touchdowns for New York (5-1), which posted its fifth straight win following an opening loss. The running back finished with 55 rushing yards.
Sanchez connected on 17-of-30 passes for 198 yards and one touchdown.
Denver (2-4) was led by Kyle Orton, who tossed for 209 yards and one touchdown, completing 14 of his 34 attempts.
Matt Prater's 48-yard field goal with 3:55 left in the game had given Denver a late 20-17 lead.
