PHOENIX, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Tim Lincecum struck out 11 Tuesday while leading the San Francisco Giants to a 6-3 win over Arizona.
The win moved the Giants to within a half-game of first-place in the National League West behind San Diego but the Padres then beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-1 to restore their lead to a full game.
Lincecum (13-9) allowed three runs on five hits in 6 2/3 innings to get the win. Jeremy Affeldt pitched the ninth for the save.
Pat Burrell and Aubrey Huff had two-run homers and Freddy Sanchez added a solo shot for the Giants, who built up a 6-0 lead before the Diamondbacks scored three times in the seventh.
Chris Young hit a two-run homer for Arizona and Tony Abreu drove in the other run for the Giants.
Barry Enright (6-3) gave up six runs on nine hits in six innings and was hung with the loss.
