MLB: Tampa Bay 10, Atlanta 4

ATLANTA, June 16 (UPI) -- David Price became the first 10-game winner in the American League Tuesday by leading the Tampa Bay Rays past Atlanta 10-4.

Evan Longoria drove in three runs and Carl Crawford scored three times and drove in a run in the Rays' fifth victory in their last eight games.

Price (10-2) surrendered three runs -- two earned -- on eight hits over five innings. He struck out seven, issued three walks, and allowed Atlanta's first run to score on a wild pitch in the first inning.

The Rays had taken a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Longoria's two-run homer with one out was the big blow of the inning.

Chipper Jones hit a solo home run for the Braves in the eighth, his fourth home run of the season. The shot came after MLB.com reported that Jones had met with team officials before the game to discuss possibly retiring at the end of the season.

Kenshin Kawakami (0-9) gave up five runs -- two earned -- on seven hits over five innings for Atlanta.

The Braves outhit the Rays 13-12 in a game delayed 2 hours, 20 minutes by rain.
