PHILADELPHIA, May 18 (UPI) -- Zach Duke tossed six innings of one-run ball and Garrett Jones delivered a tie-breaking RBI single Tuesday in the Pittsburgh Pirates' 2-1 win over Philadelphia.
Duke (3-4) beat the Phillies for the second time this year, scattering six hits, walking two and fanning five to give the Pirates a split in their two-game series.
Evan Meek and Joel Hanrahan each tossed an inning of scoreless relief and Octavio Dotel hurled a 1-2-3 ninth to nail down the win and notch his eighth save.
Lastings Milledge singled to begin the sixth off Philadelphia ace Roy Halladay (6-2), moved to second on a groundout and came rumbling home on Jones's hit to right-center, sliding hard into catcher Carlos Ruiz to break a 1-1 tie.
Jones finished 3-for-4 and Adam LaRoche knocked in the other Pittsburgh run.
Halladay took the loss despite pitching his 53rd career complete game, allowing two runs on nine hits, issuing only one walk and striking out six.
