
SAN DIEGO, April 19 (UPI) -- David Eckstein led off the bottom of the 10th with a solo homer Monday to give the San Diego Padres their fourth straight win, a 3-2 victory over San Francisco.
Adrian Gonzalez and Will Venable had an RBI each and Kyle Blanks had two hits and scored a run for the Padres.
Starter Clayton Richard held the Giants to one run on seven hits and one walk, striking out five over 6 1/3 innings. Tim Stauffer (2-0) held San Francisco scoreless in the 10th to earn the victory.
Juan Uribe hit a solo home run and Pablo Sandoval drove in one for San Francisco, which lost for the third time in four games.
Starter Matt Cain allowed two runs on seven hits and one walk, striking out four over six innings.
Jeremy Affeldt (2-2) got the loss in relief.
