CHICAGO, March 5 (UPI) -- Duncan Keith and Troy Brouwer scored 31 seconds apart in the midst of a five-goal opening period Friday, sending Chicago coasting past Vancouver 6-3.

Vancouver was foiled in its bid for a third consecutive win. The Canucks have played 11 games in a row on the road and have three left before the end of the longest trip in franchise history. They are 6-5 on the marathon journey.

Andrew Ladd gave Chicago the lead 3:48 into the game, after which Keith and Brouwer broke things open with their two quick goals.

Ryan Kesler got one back for Vancouver with 5:51 to go in the first, but Kris Versteeg tallied a minute later and Jordan Hendry finished the early outburst with a goal that came with 43 seconds left in the opening period.

Robert Luongo, who was in goal for Canada's Olympic title win over the United States last Sunday, allowed five scores on 14 shots. He was then replaced by Andrew Raycroft.
