NEWARK, N.J., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Simon Gagne's goal at 3:27 of overtime Wednesday lifted Philadelphia to 3-2 decision against New Jersey.

The third period went scoreless, meaning Jeff Carter's (24) goal at 13:47 of the second created a 2-2 tie and set up Gagne's (7) game-winner.

Arron Asham (7) also scored once and net-minder Michael Leighton made 21 saves on 23 shots for the Flyers, who took the home-and-home series, winning by the same score Monday in Philadelphia.

It also was the second straight time the Devils rallied from a two-goal deficit.

Rob Niedermayer (7) and Travis Zajac (18) scored once each for New Jersey. Goalie Martin Brodeur was beaten three times on just 15 shots for the defensive-minded Devils, who have lost three in a row.

There were no power-play goals on seven combined chances.
