NHL: Nashville 4, St. Louis 3

ST. LOUIS, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Marcel Goc, Patric Hornqvist, Joel Ward and J.P. Dumont scored for Nashville, which fought off a third-period St. Louis rally Tuesday to edge the Blues 4-3.

The Predators held a three-goal lead before the Blues' Alexander Steen and Andy McDonald scored in a 3 1/2 minute span of the third period to narrow the margin.

Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne turned away 24 shots, half of them in the third.

Carlo Colaiacovo got the other goal for St. Louis and Blues goalie Chris Mason was credited with 26 saves.

The Predators ended a three-game skid and St. Louis lost its third straight.
