NBA: Denver 106, San Antonio 99

SAN ANTONIO, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Carmelo Anthony had 34 points and Chauncey Billups scored 18 Saturday in the Denver Nuggets' 106-99 win at San Antonio.

J.R. Smith added 17. Nene had 12 in Denver's seventh win in its last eight games.

Tony Parker led the Spurs with 27 points. Tim Duncan had 26 points and Marco Ginobili scored 14.

San Antonio lost its second consecutive game after winning five in a row.

The Nuggets entered the fourth quarter trailing by one point, but rattled off the first seven points. After Duncan scored four consecutive points to pull San Antonio to within one, Anthony hit from 12 feet out to spark a 7-2 run that put the Nuggets ahead 101-95 with 2:20 to play.

San Antonio had dominated in the first half. The Spurs led 30-23 after one quarter and by 11 early in the second quarter.
