NASHVILLE, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Patric Hornqvist scored goals 2:17 apart in the third period Thursday, rallying Nashville to a 3-2 win over Colorado.
Hornqvist scored the tying goal with 7:29 to play by putting in a rebound from a slap shot fired by Ryan Suter.
The game-winning goal came when Hornqvist deflected a wrist shot by Shea Weber past Craig Anderson.
Jason Arnott added a goal and an assist for the Predators, who have won their first two games this season. Dan Ellis stopped 22-of-24 shots to get the victory.
Colorado's goals, both on the power play, came from Kyle Quincey and Marek Svatos. This was Colorado's first road game after winning its first two at home. The Avalanche will also play their next six on the road.
