MLB: Texas 7, Kansas City 2

KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 26 (UPI) -- Michael Young drove in two runs and Andruw Jones hit a solo homer for the Texas Rangers Sunday in a 7-2 win over the Kansas City Royals.

Young had three hits and Jones added a double in the Rangers' sixth win in seven games.

Dustin Nippert (3-0) got the win, allowing a run in 4 2/3 innings.

Alex Gordon and John Buck singled in the Kansas City runs.

Ron Mahay (1-1) took the loss. Mahay and fellow relievers Jamey Wright and Juan Cruz combined to give up all seven Texas runs after starter Sidney Ponson had thrown six scoreless innings.
