MLB: St. Louis 13, Florida 4

MIAMI, June 10 (UPI) -- Colby Rasmus ignited an 18-hit attack with a three-run homer in the first Wednesday and St. Louis went on to crush Florida 13-4.

The Cardinals ended a five-game losing streak, breaking open the contest with seven runs during the final two innings. Rick Ankiel finished things off with a two-run homer in the ninth.

Adam Wainwright (6-4) benefited from the onslaught to get the win, limiting Florida to four runs despite allowing 11 hits and walking three over seven innings. The support was in contrast to his two previous outings, during which he suffered two losses while allowing a combined five runs.

Chris Volstad (4-6) was touched for six runs on 10 hits over 5 2/3. Florida fell to 6-4 on an 11-game homestand that concludes Thursday.
