MLB: New York Yankees 5, Tampa Bay 3

NEW YORK, June 8 (UPI) -- Nick Swisher, Johnny Damon, Mark Teixeira and Derek Jeter homered Monday and the New York Yankees posted a 5-3 victory over Tampa Bay.

Nick Swisher hit a two-run shot while Damon, Teixeira and Jeter each hit a solo homer for the Yankees, who have won eight of their last 11 games.

Andy Pettitte (6-2) allowed three runs -- two earned -- on five hits with three walks and seven strikeouts in six innings.

Phil Hughes and Phil Coke each pitched a scoreless inning and Mariano Rivera had a scoreless ninth for his 14th save.

Gabe Kapler hit a two-run homer and Michel Hernandez added an RBI single for the Rays.

Andy Sonnanstine (4-6) gave up five runs on six hits -- including the four homers -- in seven-plus innings.
