MLB: Minnesota 11, Cleveland 3

MINNEAPOLIS, June 4 (UPI) -- Jason Kubel hit two three-run homers Thursday, leading the Minnesota Twins to an 11-3 rout of the Cleveland Indians.

Kubel had three hits, with the homers hit in successive innings (first and second).

Jason Morneau had three hits -- one a sixth-inning two-run homer.

Joe Mauer scored four times and, like Kubel and Morneau, had three hits.

Two others had one RBI for the Twins, who have split their last four games.

Winner Scott Baker (3-6) yielded three runs -- two earned -- and six hits in seven innings with one walk and 10 strikeouts.

Chris Gimenez led Cleveland with two of its seven hits and one RBI.

Jamey Carroll had one RBI and one run scored on a sixth-inning error by Minnesota shortstop Brendan Harris for the Indians, who have lost five of their last seven contests.

The losing pitcher was starter Fausto Carmona (2-6), the victim of both Kubel homers.
