MLB: Tampa Bay 15, New York Yankees 5

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., April 13 (UPI) -- Carlos Pena hit his sixth major league career grand slam Monday to lead the Tampa Bay Rays in a 15-5 trouncing of the New York Yankees.

Pena had three hits, six RBI and two runs scored for the Rays. Akinori Iwamura had three RBI, Evan Longoria and Pat Burrell each had two RBI, and Jason Bartlett was 3-for-4 with a solo homer.

Scott Kazmir (2-0) earned the win, allowing three runs on six hits with six strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.

Nick Swisher hit a solo home run and also pitched an inning of scoreless relief for the Yankees. The loss went to Chien-Ming Wang (0-2) who gave up eight runs on six hits with three walks in just one-plus inning.
