BALTIMORE, April 12 (UPI) -- The Tampa Bay Rays pounded out 17 hits, including Evan Longoria's American League-leading fifth homer Sunday, burying the Baltimore Orioles 11-3.
Longoria ended up with three hits and two RBI, Ben Zobrist belted a three-run homer, Carl Crawford had three RBI, Carlos Pena homered and drove in three runs, and Jason Bartlett also hit a home run for the Rays.
Luke Scott and Felix Pie each had an RBI for Baltimore.
Winning pitcher James Shields (1-1) gave up just three hits over seven innings.
Adam Eaton (0-1), pitching in his first game as an Oriole, took the loss. Eaton allowed four runs and eight hits in four innings.
