MLB: Chi. White Sox 8, Minnesota 0

CHICAGO, April 11 (UPI) -- Bartolo Colon and three relievers combined on a six-hit shutout Saturday and the White Sox offense pummeled Minnesota for an 8-0 Chicago win.

Colon (1-0) surrendered three hits in six innings before a mop-up by relievers Octavio Dotel, Matt Thornton and Mike MacDougal.

At the plate, Corky Miller and Alexei Ramírez led the way with two hits and two RBI apiece.

One of two hits for Carlos Quentin was a seventh-inning solo homer. Wilson Betemit, Jermaine Dye and Paul Konerko also drove in one run each for the White Sox, who had lost three of four.

Michael Cuddyer and Nick Punto both had two hits for the Twins, who have split their first six contests.

Losing pitcher Francisco Liriano (0-2) surrendered five earned runs and six hits in 4 2/3 innings with four walks and three strikeouts.
