NBA: San Antonio 98, Minnesota 86

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Tim Duncan and Tony Parker scored 17 points each Friday night to lead the San Antonio Spurs to their fifth consecutive victory Friday -- 98-86 over Minnesota.

Duncan pulled down 13 rebounds. Manu Ginobili added 16 points and Michael Finley had 12.

Since starting the season with a 2-5 record, the Spurs have gone 12-3.

The struggling Timberwolves have dropped eight straight, the last three having come after Kevin McHale took over as coach from the fired Randy Wittman.

Minnesota was led by Al Jefferson with 29 points and 13 rebounds.
