TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Two goals from Vincent Lecavalier Friday boosted the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 4-1 victory over Nashville.
The Lightning ended a five-game losing streak and gave Coach Rick Tocchet his first win since taking over last week for the dismissed Barry Melrose.
Vinny Prospal and Mark Recchi also scored for the Lightning and Mike Smith stopped 34 shots for his fifth win of the season.
The loss went to Dan Ellis, who surrendered all four goals on 24 shots.
Lecavalier scored his two goals in a span of 2:08 of the first period. Nashville's only goal came from Jordin Tootoo midway through the first that briefly brought the Predators within one.
