PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- A second period goal by left wing Vaclav Prospal stood up Saturday night when the Tampa Bay Lightning recorded a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Tampa Bay has won 14 of the last 17 meetings between the clubs.

Prospal's third goal this season broke a 1-1 tie at 13:35 of the second following assists by Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis.

Left wing Jussi Jokinen scored at 7:58 of the second period on assists by Mark Recchi and Gary Roberts.

Goalie Mike Smith made 35 saves on 36 shots or the Lightning, who stopped a two-game skid.

Philadelphia's lone goal was scored on the power play at 17:20 of the first period by center Daniel Briere in his return after missing six games because of abdominal surgery.

Goalie Martin Biron was beaten twice on 22 shots in the Flyers' third loss in a row.
