SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Joe Pavelski and Mike Grier scored for San Jose and Pittsburgh mustered just 10 shots on goal in the Sharks' 2-1 win over the Penguins Tuesday.

Ruslan Fedotenko's goal late in the third period prevented Sharks goalie Evgeni Nabokov from notching a shutout.

San Jose is off to an 8-2 start, the best in franchise history. The Sharks have won their last five games over Pittsburgh.

Danny Sabourin made 32 saves for Pittsburgh.

The Penguins have dropped their last two after winning three straight.
