NHL: Detroit 6, Chicago 5 (SO)

CHICAGO, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Marian Hossa's shootout goal boosted the Detroit Red Wings to a 6-5 victory against the Chicago Blackhawks Saturday night.

The game-winner capped a spectacular offensive effort in the Red Wings' fourth win in a row. The veteran right wing recorded goal and assist in regulation.

Both Niklas Kronwall and Jiri Hudler had a goal and two assists. Mikael Samuelsson also had two assists, and goalie Terry Conklin made 36 saves on 41 shots through overtime.

Chicago got goals from five different players, including Patrick Kane, whose fifth goal this season (power play) created a 5-5 tie at 12:33 of the third period. One of the five was right wing Martin Havlat, who also had one assist.

Troy Brouwer added two assists and goalie Nikolay Khabibulin made 39 saves on 44 shots in regulation for the Blackhawks, who had won three of four.

On the power play, Detroit went 2-for-3 and Chicago went 2-for-8.
