MLB: LA Angels 7, Minnesota 5

ANAHEIM, Calif., Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Mark Teixeira homered, drove in three runs and scored twice Saturday night to lead the Los Angeles Angels past Minnesota 7-5.

Vladimir Guerrero had two hits, two RBI and a run scored and Chone Figgins had three hits and scored twice for the Angels, who won for just the second time in their last seven games.

LA starter Jon Garland went 4 1/13 innings, giving up five runs on six hits with one walk and one strikeout. Darren Oliver (5-1) got the win, pitching 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, and Francisco Rodriguez threw a scoreless ninth to get his 49th save.

Alex Casilla homered and scored twice and Joe Mauer drove in two runs for the Twins, who committed three errors in their first loss in five games.

Minnesota starter Nick Blackburn (9-8) went 4 2/3 innings, giving up six runs on 10 hits with two walks and no strikeouts.
