CHICAGO, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Jolbert Cabrera drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning for Cincinnati Wednesday and the Reds went on to beat the Chicago Cubs 2-1.
Cabrera's sacrifice fly to left field scored Edwin Encarnacion, who had doubled and moved to third on a groundout. The Reds got their other run on a fielder's choice.
Bronson Arroyo (11-10) picked up the win, giving the Cubs three hits in seven innings. The Reds' David Weathers pitched a 1-2-3 eighth and Francisco Cordero did the same in the ninth, striking out the side.
Ted Lilly (12-7) pitched a strong game in defeat, allowing two runs and two hits, also in seven innings.
Mark DeRosa singled in the Cubs' run.
The loss was Chicago's second in its last nine games.
