TORONTO, July 26 (UPI) -- Second-seeded Rafael Nadal and unseeded German Nicolas Kiefer won their semifinal matches Saturday and will meet Sunday for the $2,615,000 Rogers Masters title.
Spaniard Nadal defeated eighth-seeded Andy Murray 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 Saturday in a match that took more than two hours.
Earlier, Kiefer took three hours to beat Frenchman Gilles Simon 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 7-6 (7-5). Simon beat world No. 1 Roger Federer in this tournament's second round and had won 11 consecutive matches -- including a title in Indianapolis last week. His last loss came in the third round at Wimbledon to Richard Gasquet.
Kiefer, 31, advanced to his first career ATP Masters Series final.
Nadal won the French Open in May and Wimbledon in June, and is 3-0 lifetime against Kiefer.
