MLB: Arizona 5, N.Y. Mets 4 (10 inn.)

NEW YORK, June 12 (UPI) -- Miguel Montero's sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th inning Thursday lifted Arizona past the New York Mets 5-4.

The game went to extra innings after Mets closer Billy Wagner blew a save chance for the second straight day in the top of the ninth.

Arizona got a two-run eighth inning triple from Mark Reynolds and one RBI from two others, including Chris Young, who had two of the eight hits for the Diamondbacks. Arizona won twice in the three-game series at Shea Stadium.

Brandon Lyon (2-1) was the winning pitcher.

New York's Fernando Tatis hit a two-run single in the seventh and two other Mets drove in one run apiece.

Three players had two hits for the Mets, who have lost six of their last seven games.

Arizona starter Dan Haren surrendered two earned runs and five hits in six innings while Mets starter Jojan Santana gave up three hits in seven scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts.

The losing pitcher was Aaron Heilman (0-3).
