MLB: Colorado 2, Atlanta 1

DENVER, April 7 (UPI) -- Matt Holliday's two-run homer in the eighth inning Monday lifted the Colorado Rockies a 2-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves.

Colorado starter Aaron Cook gave up just one run in seven innings. Matt Herges (1-0) and Manny Corpas pitched scoreless eighth and ninth innings respectively.

Troy Tulowitzki doubled for Colorado, which ended a five-game losing streak.

Blaine Boyer (0-1) gave up Holliday's homer to take the loss, after Tom Glavine pitched 6 1/3 innings of scoreless, three-hit ball.

Kelly Johnson, Yunel Escobar and Chipper Jones had the only three hits for Atlanta.
