NBA: New Jersey 99, Toronto 90

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., April 5 (UPI) -- Vince Carter scored 32 points Saturday to boost the New Jersey Nets to a 99-90 victory against Toronto.

With Toronto leading 76-74, a 15-4 run led to a 91-80 Nets advantage with 6:14 remaining. Carter sank a layup and two free throws during the surge and the Raptors never got closer than eight points after that.

Richard Jefferson scored 28 points with five rebounds and six assists. Devin Harris had 12 points, five rebounds and seven assists and Stromile Swift added 10 points and six rebounds for the Nets, who remained four games behind Atlanta for the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.

Rasho Nesterovic led Toronto with 22 points, 16 in the first half, and added 14 rebounds. Chris Bosh scored 18 with 10 rebounds.

Jamario Moon and Travis Ford both scored 13 while Anthony Parker added 11 points, three rebounds and five assists for the Raptors, who hold a two-game lead over Atlanta in the battle for the eighth playoff seed in the East.
