NHL: Tampa Bay 3, Toronto 2 (OT)

TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 29 (UPI) -- Dan Boyle scored a power-play goal with 2:58 remaining in overtime Friday, giving the Tampa Bay Lightning a 3-2 victory over Toronto.

The Lightning let a two-goal lead slip away, but took advantage of an overtime penalty called on Pavel Kubina for holding the stick.

Boyle fed Vincent Lecavalier, who fired a shot from the slot that was blocked by defenseman Ian White. The puck bounced right onto Boyle's stick and he flipped it past Vesa Toskala to halt Tampa Bay's five-game losing streak.

Boyle also had two assists while Michel Ouellet and Alexander Picard scored in regulation for Tampa Bay.

It was only the second win for the Lightning over Toronto in nine meetings.

Toronto scored two third-period goals after firing just 10 shots on goal in the first 40 minutes.
