NHL: Boston 3, N.Y. Rangers 1

NEW YORK, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Chuck Kobasew, Glen Metropolit and Phil Kessel scored for Boston, which beat the New York Rangers 3-1 Sunday, completing a two-game sweep.

The Bruins, who had knocked off the Rangers 4-3 in a shootout Saturday, ran up a 3-0 lead before Brandon Dubinsky's goal for New York with 44 seconds left in the game.

New York outshot Boston 12-4 in the first period and 31-23 in the game, but Bruins goalie Tim Thomas shut out the Rangers until the late goal.

The Rangers have dropped three of their last four contests.
