NBA: Atlanta 116, Utah 111

ATLANTA, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Joe Johnson fired in 26 points Monday to pace the Atlanta Hawks, who outslugged the Utah Jazz 116-111.

Atlanta has won five of its last seven games.

Marvin Williams added 21 points, while Josh Smith chipped in 18, Anthony Johnson 17 along with 14 assists, and Al Horford 17.

Atlanta defeated the Jazz for the first time in over five years. The Hawks last beat the Jazz Oct. 31, 2002.

Carlos Boozer poured in a season-high 39 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Jazz, who have lost seven of eight. Ronnie Brewer added 19 points, while Andrei Kirilenko had 16, and Deron Williams had 14 points and 10 assists for Utah.
