NHL: Phoenix 4, Los Angeles 2

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Keith Ballard scored the decisive goal in the third period for Phoenix Saturday night and the Coyotes went on to beat Los Angeles 4-2.

Shane Doan had a goal and an assist and Fredrik Sjostrom had three assists for the Coyotes, who won for just the second time in their last seven games. Ilya Bryzgalov made 22 stops for Phoenix.

Michal Handzus and Anze Kopitar scored goals and Jean-Sebastien Aubin had 18 saves for the Kings, who have lost four of their last five games.
