NHL: Atlanta 4, N.Y. Islanders 0

UNIONDALE, N.Y., Dec. 2 (UPI) -- The Atlanta Thrashers blanked the New York Islanders 4-0 Saturday behind the goaltending of Kari Lehtonen, who blocked 33 shots.

Lehtonen had been out of action with an injury but was unbeatable in his return. The shutout was the eighth of his career.

Ilya Kovalchuk, Eric Boulton, Marian Hossa and Slava Kozlov all scored in the first period for the Thrashers.

Wade Dubielewicz had 30 saves for the Islanders, who have lost three of their last four games.
