NBA: San Antonio 97, New Orleans 85

NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Tony Parker scored 27 points and had eight assists Friday night, as the San Antonio Spurs defeated New Orleans for the eighth straight time, 97-85.

Tim Duncan added 24 points and 12 rebounds while blocking four shots.

After building a 52-45 halftime lead, the Spurs went on a 12-2 run during the third quarter that broke open the game. Manu Ginobili had three straight baskets during the surge -- one of them a three-pointer that turned into a four-point play because he was fouled on the shot and converted the free throw.

San Antonio has won five out of six to start the season. Its lone loss came against Houston.

New Orleans was led by 18 points from Chris Paul and 15 from David West.
