Cabrera among match play semifinalists

WENTWORTH, England, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Angel Cabrera, Ernie Els, Hunter Mahan and Henrik Stenson had lopsided wins and made the semifinals of the HSBC World Match Play Championship in England.

Cabrera’s 4 and 3 victory over defending HSBC match play champion Paul Casey Friday was the closest result of the four quarterfinal matches scheduled for 36 holes. Cabrera, who won the U.S. Open this year, is paired against Mahan, who beat Soren Hansen 6 and 4, even through Hansen won one hole with a hole-in-one.
