Blake to meet Fish in Pilot Pen finals

NEW HAVEN, Conn., Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Third-seeded James Blake battled his way into the Pilot Pen title match Friday night, defeating Paul-Henri Mathieu, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5, in New Haven, Conn.

Blake reached his second championship match in as many weeks. He lost to Roger Federer in the finals of the Cincinnati Masters last week.

Qualifier Mardy Fish earned a chance against Blake by ousting Ivo Karlovic on the campus of Yale, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4.

Fish is looking for his first tournament title since winning in Houston last year.
