SAN DIEGO, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Kevin Kouzmanoff's two-run single keyed a six-run second San Diego road to an 8-0 win over Colorado Tuesday, giving Greg Maddux his first win in seven weeks.
Kouzmanoff also homered, as did Morgan Ensberg. Mike Ameron added a two-run double for the Padres, who have won three of their last four to move within two games of Arizona for the NL West lead.
Maddux (8-9) snapped a personal five-game losing streak and won for the first time since June 27 at San Francisco. The four-time Cy Young Award winner, who went winless in his previous eight outings, scattered eight hits and struck out four over 5 2/3 innings to get career victory No. 341.
Jeff Francis (13-6) had an eight-game winning streak broken. He gave up eight runs on six hits and nine walks over 3 1/3 innings.
Todd Helton had three hits for the Rockies, who had a two-game winning streak snapped.
