MLB: Seattle 6, Baltimore 5

SEATTLE, July 18 (UPI) -- Adrian Beltre pushed in the go-ahead run in the eighth by drawing a bases-loaded, two-out walk Wednesday as Seattle edged Baltimore 6-5.

The Mariners let a 5-1 lead slip away in the late innings, but scraped out a run in the eighth against three Baltimore pitchers.

Baltimore tied the game at 5-5 with a three-run seventh and it was still deadlocked when Yuniesky Betancourt doubled off Danys Baez (0-5) to open the Seattle eighth.

Jamie Walker relieved Baez and got Ichiro Suzuki on a fly ball, which advanced Betancourt to third. Jose Vidro was intentionally walked and Chad Bradford replaced Walker on the mound.

Bradford hit Jose Guillen with a pitch to load the bases, after which Raul Ibanez forced Betancourt at the plate on a grounder to first. That brought up Beltre, who worked the count full, fouled off two pitches and then took ball four well out of the strike zone.

That made a winner out of reliever Sean Green (3-1), who retired all four men he faced. J.J. Putz worked a perfect ninth for his 28th save.
