MLB: N.Y. Yankees 11, N.Y. Mets 8

NEW YORK, June 16 (UPI) -- Derek Jeter was 4-for-5 with a two-run homer Saturday as the New York Yankees out-slugged the New York Mets, 11-8.

Alex Rodriguez had two hits, including a two-run home run, and scored three times for the Yankees, who have won 10 of their last 11 games.

Yankees' rookie 22-year-old Tyler Clippard got the start, but lasted just 3 1/3 innings while allowing five runs on five hits. Luis Vizcaino (3-1) earned the victory after pitching 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Veteran Tom Glavine (5-5) continued to struggle on the mound for the Mets. He gave up seven runs on eight hits in four-plus innings.

Glavine, five wins away from reaching the 300 mark, has failed to record a victory in his last five starts.

David Wright extended his hitting streak to 17 games for the Mets, who have lost six of their last seven games. Ramon Castro hit a two-run home run, and Ruben Gotay added a solo homer for the Mets.
