MLB: Arizona 5, Pittsburgh 2

PITTSBURGH, May 20 (UPI) -- Randy Johnson yielded two earned runs and seven hits in 5 2/3 innings Sunday afternoon as Arizona beat Pittsburgh, 5-2.

The 43-year-old left-hander did not walk a batter and struck out 10 in his best outing in the 2007 season. It was Johnson's 282nd career victory.

Chris Snyder hit a three-run double, Scott Drew and Conor Jackson both drove in one run, Snyder had three hits, and both Jackson and Eric Byrnes had two hits for the Diamondbacks, who have won three of their last four games.

Closer Jose Valverde earned his 16th save of the season.

Xavier Nady had two hits and two RBI, while Jose Bautista had two hits and scored both runs for the Pirates, who have split their last four games.

Losing pitcher Paul Maholm (2-6) was charged with five runs -- four earned -- and eight hits in five innings with two walks and two strikeouts.
