BOSTON, May 19 (UPI) -- Mike Lowell hit a grand slam Saturday afternoon to help Boston down Atlanta, 13-3, in the opener of a day-night doubleheader at Fenway Park.
Overall, Lowell had two runs, four hits, and five RBI.
Wily Mo Pena hit a solo homer, Julio Lugo had one run, two hits, and three RBI, Coco Crisp had one run, two hits, and two RBI, Kevin Youkilis hit a two-run homer, David Ortiz had two runs and three hits, while Austin Pedroia and J.D. Drew also scored twice for the Red Sox, who have a three-game winning streak.
Winner Daisuke Matsuzaka (6-2) scattered three earned runs and nine hits over eight innings with no walks and six strikeouts.
Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit an RBI single, Jeff Francoeur hit a two-run homer, and Edgar Renteria had three hits for the Braves, who have a three-game losing streak.
The loser was Anthony Lerew (0-2).
