Nadal, Canas to meet in final at Barcelona

BARCELONA, Spain, April 28 (UPI) -- Rafael Nadal extended his record clay-court winning streak to 71 matches Saturday to reach the final of the $1 million Open Seat 2007 in Barcelona, Spain.

Nadal -- who won last week at the Monte Carlo Masters -- defeated fellow Spaniard David Ferrer, 7-5, 6-1, Saturday.

Nadal will go for his third Barcelona title Sunday against 12th-seeded Argentine Guillermo Canas, who beat fellow countryman Agustin Calleri, 7-6 (7-1), 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, in Saturday's other semifinal match.

Nadal, two-time French Open, defeated world No. 1 Roger Federer in last week's finale at Monte Carlo.

He is the reigning two-time Barcelona champ. He beat Tommy Robredo in last year's all-Spanish final in Barcelona.
