PITTSBURGH, April 28 (UPI) -- Matt Belisle pitched a complete-game five-hitter Saturday night as the Cincinnati Reds beat Pittsburgh, 8-1.
The only run Belisle allowed came on an RBI single by Chris Duffy in the bottom of the sixth inning. Belisle helped his own cause ast the plate, driving in a run.
Jeff Conine had three hits and three RBI. Brandon Phillips, Josh Hamilton and Edwin Encarnacion knocked in a run each, and a run scored on a balk by losing pitcher Tom Gorzelanny for the Reds, who broke a three-game losing streak.
Belisle (3-1) did not walk a batter and struck out five.
Four other players had one hit for the Pirates, whose five-game winning streak was broken.
Gorzelanny (3-1) was charged with five earned runs and eight hits in six innings.
