MLB: Florida 9, Washington 3

MIAMI, April 21 (UPI) -- Anibal Sanchez and two relievers combined on a seven-hitter Saturday night as the Florida Marlins blasted the Washington Nationals, 9-3.

Hanley Ramirez hit a two-run homer, Jason Wood hit a solo shot and Cody Ross hit a two-run single. Aaron Boone hit an RBI double, Josh Willingham had three hits and one RBI, a run scored on a wild pitch by starter and loser Matt Chico, and Dan Uggla had three runs and two hits for the Marlins, who broke a six-game losing streak.

Sanchez (2-0) gave up three earned runs and five hits in five innings.

Matt Lindstrom and Randy Messenger both hurled two scoreless innings.

Ryan Zimmerman, Brian Schneider and Ryan Church all drove in one run, while Church, Zimmerman and Felipe Lopez all had two hits for the Nationals, who have split their last four games.

Chico (1-2) yielded five earned runs and six hits in 4 2/3 innings.
