NBA: Minnesota 95, Sacramento 89

SACRAMENTO, March 22 (UPI) -- Randy Foye's 24-point effort helped the Minnesota Timberwolves break an 11-game road losing streak with a 95-89 win over the Sacramento Kings.

Minnesota has won just 10 of its 35 road games this season, a record that has the Timberwolves 2 1/2 games out of the final NBA Western Conference playoff spot. Sacramento is having similar problems overall, having lost seven of its last eight and is three games behind in the playoff race.

After the Kings' Mike Bibby tied the score at 87-87 with a finger-roll with 1:35 to go in Wednesday's game, Minnesota's Craig Smith tipped in a miss and made a free shot for a three-point Timberwolves' lead. Foye added a jump shot with 16 seconds to go.

Sacramento kept it a one-possession game, however, with a layup by Corliss Williamson three seconds later and fouled Smith, who made both free throws to seal the game.

Foye's 24 points led all scorers while Kevin Garnett finished with 17 points and 18 rebounds. Ricky Davis chipped in 14 points and Mike James had 12 points.
